Stranger Things Part 5: Dreams and Visions

May 10, 2026    Jimmy Cooper

On the Day of Pentecost, Peter quotes the Prophet Joel that, “Your sons and daughters will prophesy; your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” And that’s what we see happen throughout Acts. Peter has a vision that completely upends his biases and worldview. Saul of Tarsus meets Jesus in a dramatic daytime vision that others with him hear but don’t see. Later, the Apostle Paul is warned by a prophet that persecution awaits him in Jerusalem. Paul sees a vision of a man from Macedonia appealing to him for help, so their missionary team heads off in that direction. Warnings. Guidance. Dreams and visions seem to be the norm in the early Church. And, in our day, tens of thousands of Muslims are meeting Jesus in vivid dreams and turning to Him in faith.
