He’s not really mentioned that much in the Bible and his identity is cloaked somewhat in mystery. But the devil is presented as real and believers are admonished several times to be on their guard and aware of his schemes. Then, there are the demons – presumably fallen angels who work at the devil’s behest. In addition, there are the even more mysterious “principalities and powers” who fall into a class all their own. What do we make of all this and how do our lives as disciples intersect with their reality?
